I don't see a mix. The 1026r is 25.2 and needs to lose .3 hp and still be the 1025r. The 2520 will lose 1.6-2 hp and be the 2025r as the detuning will come trying to control NoX and particulates.

The 2520 engine is a better platform IMO than the 1026/2320 engine. Hp might say the same but torque is king and the 68 doesn't have that.

Buy 2720 now or wait for 2032R??

I'm having trouble making up my mind. What do you guys think? Also, I'm not sure whether I want to trade in my X585 with 62C MMM and 54" front blade or get a MMM, front blade and loader for the new tractor. What it comes down to is that I am not sure that a new hood design and auto-connect are worth several thousand dollars more or am I missing something. I'm 62 and this may be my last new tractor. Thanks to anyone helping me through my confusion. :-)

    Dan,

If a loader is what you're looking to gain what kind of work do you plan on doing with it? How much land do you have to maintain? If you're happy with your X585 the most inexpensive way to add a loader is to consider a Johnny Bucket. More info is here:Johnny Buckets For John Deere Sears Craftsman Cub Cadet Case Simplicity and Many More

On the other hand IF this might be your last tractor you certainly deserve the excitement of a new machine. Just don't purchase anything outrageous and too large for your needs. Select an upgrade that will handle the work you need to do without being cumbersome.

    Regards,
    Frank

    dan126,
I agree with both Superglidesport and Kennyd, I'll add, a 2720 is a pretty big jump.

I mow about 3.5 acres. I also have 3.5 acres of woods which is a mess due to fallen trees and weeds etc. I want to clean that mess up and the X585 is not up to that job. I've thought of keeping it just for mowing. It is very good for that job.

I've got similar size property. I mow about 3 acres and blow snow off my 800' driveway with my 2305. My 2720 is for TLB work. That said I just got in from about 5 hours of working with the 2720 today. I'm cleaning up my wooded area and took out maybe 12 stumps today. Spent another hour leveling off the area where the stumps were. The bigger machine handles that work well. I wouldn't want to be digging stumps and mowing dirt with anything smaller.
