    Throttle loose

Does anyone have any idea how to tighten the hand throttle. I was working along and suddenly the throttle will not say in the right place, keeps sliding back. It still works the engine like its supposed to just wont stay in place, keep going back to idle. is there an adjustment that I cant see?

    Thanks for your help?

Talked to the dealer today they said it was a warranty isue, and they will fix it the next time it comes in for service. A handy glove stuck in the way will hold it till then.

    Thanks for the help!

Mine will be going in on Monday for the same issue. While cutting grass the throttle slowly creeps back. They will be fixing a few small other issues as well.

Same thing happened to my 1023, the plastic friction washer broke and fell out, warranty issue but will probably continue to happen over the life of the tractor.

Its twice now that mine has been in the shop for this issue. The nut to tighten is not an easy thing to get to.

Same thing happened to me on my 1026r. With the help of kennyd diagram I took all the plastic off, applied so locktight and wrenched it tight.

I am having the issue too, spent an hour getting my big hands stuck trying to get a wrench on it. I finally got it tightened, but on the next mowing effort it came loose again. I'm pissed. I can't afford down time for this to get fixed.

Mine just started doing this now. I was able to easily access the nut(s) by removing one screw on the side panel and sliding it off. Any idea what the nut size is tho? Feels like 5/8 but I have found metric on this machine also.
