how much weight to add to a 318
I got 25lb rear wheel weights for my 86 318. I am currently building me a little mounting bracket to go on my hitch to allow me to stack 25lb bench weights on it. Ill post a picture as soon as I get it finished. I have three 25lb bench weights for that mount. I should be able to add another 50lbs if needed. Right now ill have 125lb of weight. I need the weight for pushing snow in the winter with a front blade and for leveling my garden a little. how much weight should I put on.

The manual I have says no more than 1200 lb on the back, that would include wheel weight. If you don't have a manual for your tractor I recommend getting one. I just ordered one from the JD library and it took less than a week to get to me.
I have had my 318 for about 3 months now and I love it. Hope you love yours!

Here's the weight holder with some weight on my 318. Sorry, don't have a rear view shot. I put 6 x 40# (240 # total) on it. I've got some 70# weights, but the 240 seems to be en enough. Not many opportunities to use it on snow, so test time takes away from play time. I might try more weight on the next snow to see if I can get by without the chains. That would be a time saver.
Note also each wheel has a 75 # weight on it.

I can load mine with 8 42# in the front, and I have 4 50 # rear wheel weights installed, and can add another 6 42# in the rear as well. She don't steer too good with all the weight on the front though !
