    4020 starter

I've done some looking on here and on jdparts. I was wondering if someone could tell me what wires go where coming off the starter, I can't seem to find much and I was having trouble making out stuff on the wiring diagram. Attached in the picture is what I have and it was like this when I bought it. Any help is greatly appreciated since electrical makes my head hurt. Also serial number is in the 183,000 range.

    Welcome to GTT
The starter in your photo doesn't appear to be the original one. I think starter is 12 volt because I see battery cable attached to starter mounting bolt.? If electrical system has been changed to 12 volt then both blue & brown wires attach to post on solenoid that battery cable attaches to. JD will mot have any wiring diagram if your tractor has 12 volt system

Yeah I forgot to mention it is 12 volt. I've read about having a secondary relay/solenoid wired in the starting circuit, how would that be wired in?

Wire that normally leads from ign switch via neutral start switch to "s" terminal on starter solenoid is routed to added relay then from relay to starter solenoid "s" terminal.

So then do the 2 brown and 2 black wires go to the battery post on starter like before?

Yes all wires on starter remain the same except the wire from added relay to "S" post on solenoid.
