    5310 C range

    Hey all,
I just picked up a John deere 5310 tractor for fairly cheap.
The only issue with it is when you put it in c range 1-4 it seems like there's a really bad grinding noise.
I'm new to these tractors so bare with me.
Do yall think its inside the transmission?
If so how hard are these tractors to split?
I'd like to get this thing fixed so I can plow

is it only in c range when it makes the noise? if so it narrows the problem area down.

Also I sure you arent planning to plow in c range?

if its a whine noise i'll bet the gears are worn. if its a grind/vrum vrum sound that increases with speed its probably a bearing. Yes it'll need split and investigated.

What transmission option does it have? There should be sticker on the cowl that tells CollarShift, SyncShuttle, or Reverser?
