    4230 clutch slipping

Have a 75 4230 quad. Tractor will move but you can apply brake in any gear or range and it will load engine slightly and stop. Also will slow travel when going up hill. I've changed filter, cleaned screen. I also have no pressure at clutch test port, lube port or test port on transmission pump valve housing. I have checked for stuck pressure calves, linkages etc. Any suggestions before I split tractor.???

With zero pressure, I am surprised it moves at all. Have you tried testing for pressure at pto clutch or brake? Check pto pressure with clutch pedal up and down. Do all the hydraulics work normally? Is clutch pedal linkage moving fully at the clutch valve? Did this problem start suddenly? Could be many things. If pressure is normal at pto with clutch pedal depessed and not when it is up, then there is a large leak in clutch circuit. Could be in the valve or operating housing. If there is no pressure at pto either, then you may have a bad pump or the hex shaft that drives pump could be stripped. ALso try checking pressures with transmission in 1st gear and 2nd gear to see if there is a leak in the hi-lo. Reply back with these results and then we can give more information.

Have you checked for slippage in both low & high speeds on 2 speed?

Clutch will slip in both ranges. When it is moving you can feel a solid shift when using 2 speed. I am going to split the tractor this weekend and check it clutch and operation circuit. I have good flow at test ports but no pressure.
