7th gear lever jerks for some reason

2950, Actually got to work with the tractor I’ve been work with all these months. Moving have, high range 7th gear is what I need to move in across the pasture... the knob jerks, I didn’t try low range in that gear just high range.... any ideas why? I put pressure on it pushing forward... still jerks.

can ya use only 6th gear instead? sometimes with these older tractors they got some issues-which i think u have found in the a/c departmentin other words don't go digging in another hole if it runs a-ok-just go a tad slower
