4640 quad range, need to power out of park on level ground

I have a John Deere 4640 quad range, the tractor seams to work fine in all gears and ranges. The only problem is that I some times need to power out of park, as if you are on a hill, but the tractor is on level ground. When you power out of park the shift lever will jump, and then it is fine.
    thanks for any help.

    Welcome to GTT
I've never witnessed a QR trans that had to be "powered out" of park on level ground. Have you tried lubricating the shift linkages?

We occasionally had that issue with both our 4630 and 8630.
Both we were usually able to muscle into A and hold it long enough to get in gear and pop the clutch, which as you said resolved the problem until it was put in park again.

On the 4630, IIRC it was just a matter of lubing the linkages. On the 8630 I believe some adjustment was needed as well.
