Mounting lights or corrugated metal siding.

Well today I finally finished mounting the outside lights on my shed.

The ridged metal siding presented some issues as the place where the light needed to go were right where a rib fell.

    So hereís my solution.

First we cut a 7.25 square hole in the siding and back it with a 2X10

Then we took J channel and wrapped it. And installed a 2x8 cut so itís square.

Then drilled a 4 and an eighth inch hole for the light box. And install the cover tin that I had bent to cover the 2x8

Then install the light. It sure gives a nice clean finished look.

Iím very happy with the finished product.

Nice job on the install! That is a great looking building.

Your wife obviously has good design sense by having you add that cupola!
