RE: U.S. Metal Buildings Corp; U.S. Building Systems Corp. d/b/a U.S. Buildings; International Building Systems, LLC; and/or International Buildings, LLC
The Office of the Attorney General is pleased to inform you that we have reached a settlement which may provide partial restitution in our case against U.S. Metal Buildings Corp; U.S. Building Systems Corp. d/b/a U.S. Buildings; International Building Systems, LLC; and/or International Buildings, LLC, Case No. L13-3-1134. One of the goals of the Attorney General is to protect consumers against deceptive trade practices, and the repayment of losses suffered due to the actions of this firm is an example of what this office does to help protect our citizens.
Our records indicate that you may have been a consumer who suffered a monetary loss with U.S. Metal Buildings, et al., and may be entitled to share in the aforementioned recovery. If you qualify for a distribution, the amount of your recovery (if any) has not yet been determined. We are unable to predict the precise amount that will be distributed to any claimant. Per the terms of the settlement agreement, the collection and distribution of restitution is anticipated to conclude in July 2016.
Consumers who qualify to participate in the above will have two options available to them: (1) monetary restitution for monies lost, or (2) fulfillment of their original purchase pursuant to the terms and conditions outlined in their original contract. Qualifying consumers may select ONE of the above options, but not both. As stated above, for those seeking monetary compensation, we are unable to predict the precise amount that will be distributed to any one claimant, nor the exact date distribution will commence. Individual claimants’ recoveries may be considerably less than the actual amount of loss.
In order to participate in the recovery described above, please complete and return the attached Claim Form post-marked no later than April 24, 2015. RETURNED CLAIM FORMS MUST INCLUDE DOCUMENTS SUPPORTING YOUR LOSS CLAIM TOTAL. This can include copies of receipts, credit card statements, cancelled checks, etc. Please limit the documents returned with this form to only those that support your monetary loss claim. At this time, it is not necessary to include other non-financial related documents (building specifications, email communications, etc.), particularly if those documents have been previously submitted to our office.
For any questions regarding the claims process, please contact Victim Services Program Specialist Rebecca Maturo at 561-837-5025 x 219. Thank you for contacting the Office of the Florida Attorney General.
