John Deere 110 TLB 2004 Hydrostatic drive issue

The hydrostatic drive seems to work fine at first, then after about 15 minutes of use I have to press the drive petal several times to get it to engage. Then after another 15 to 20 minutes it seems to correct its self. Keep in mind I have only owned this machine a couple of weeks and it has 2100 hrs on it. This machine has had all fluids and filters changed just before I bought it.

Iv'e read of problems with a sensor causing issues like that, seems to me it was a flywheel or MFWD sensor. Do any codes flash when it happens?

I hope it's something minor. I had my heart set on a 110TLB a few years back but reading reports of similar transmission related issues ~ 2,000 hours scared me off. I also have an equipment rental shop nearby that has a couple of them which I've used on occasion. They are very nice machines. Back to your issue, if you're not getting a code related indicator light on the dash when the problem occurs you may have to go into the hydro drive for diagnosis and repair.

FYI, I went to look at a unit with ~1800 hours on it a couple of years ago. It was very clean and appeared well maintained. I ran it for a while and initially everything was A-OK. I intentionally worked it until it was at running temperature and it intermittently lost hydro drive power. Again, hopefully a known and easily repaired issue for you. Good luck!

The good news is you've got a hard fault occurring. This should be able to be easily diagnosed. Sounds like it might be a code "13" but you'll need the workshop manual to take it from there.

Thank you all for the input.

I received the technical manual for the 110. The flash code gives me a starting point of a simultaneous from forward and reverse. It tells me to check pedal for debris or obstruction the prevent the pedal from total travel. If this is not the problem it says to test the forward and reverse potentiometer. Also my brother in law who is a heavy equipment mechanic visited this weekend. He said giving the pedal control a good cleaning and lubricate should fix the problem. I want to thank all of you for advise and that I can help in the future. I will post back the results hopefully soon.

Eddy, sounds like you on your way to a solution. If you have any way of posting those trouble codes it would surly help someone in the future.
