Torque Converter Question ... JD 410D

I am installing a rebuilt reverser in my JD 410D Back Hoe because I lost forward and reverse and I am told the reverser is the problem … Does the torque converter need to be replaced also ?
    Thanks Doug

What type diagnostics did you perform to determine reverser was at fault & required R&R? There appears to be a flex plate that attaches between torque converter & trans input shaft that could possibly fail causing TLB not to move under it's own power.
