I've come to the conclusion I am a little behind the times when it comes to cooking bacon.

I think it is one of the many things that I like about GTT. I learn so many new things and get new ideas, in so many venues. One would expect to learn about tractors on a forum such as this, but when you add things like a new way to cook bacon, with less mess even, and how to make human horse cookies, it more than pays for the "membership"!

We love bacon in my house. Turn your back on a plate of cooked bacon and my kids will take it all.

In the winter I cook it in my oven. I line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper leaving edges over the sides. The bacon holds the paper down and the grease in. Once done I let the pan cool and when the grease becomes solid I just toss the paper in the garbage. Very easy cleanup.

In the summer I cook in on my Treager grill. The smell is great and the grease drains away into the grill grease bucket.

I have a couple of favorite recipes with bacon: Bacon Wrapped Oven Baked Green Beans and (2) Atomic Buffalo Turds (also known as ABTs, for the squeamish) cooked on the smoker. I believe both are in the cookbook, except maybe for the ABTs; if not, I'll post it.
