i just had to share this e-mail from mission bbq

It’s National POW/MIA Remembrance Day, honoring our nation’s missing service members and their families. If you happen to visit any MISSION BBQ today, you’ll notice a small table set for one.

It was inspired by this poem we’d like to share:
This Table set for one is small, symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner alone against his oppressors. Remember!
The Tablecloth is white, symbolizing purity of their intentions responding to their country's call to arms. Remember!
The single Red Rose reminds us of their loved ones who keep the faith awaiting their return. Remember!
A Red Ribbon is reminiscent of the one worn by thousands determined to demand a proper accounting of our missing. Remember!
The Candle is lit, symbolizing the upward reach of their unconquerable spirit. Remember!
A Slice of Lemon on the bread plate reminds us of their bitter fate. Remember!
There is Salt upon the bread plate, symbolic of family tears as they wait. Remember!
The Glass is inverted. They cannot toast with us this night. Remember!
The Chair is empty. They are not here. Remember!
All of you who served with them and called them comrades, who depended upon their might and relied upon them, for surely, they have not forsaken you. Remember!!
Until the day they come home, Remember!

These brave Heroes are unable to be with us today, join us in their remembrance.

    Proudly Serving Those Who Serve,
    Your Friends at MISSION BBQ

Mission BBQ is a respectable business. We have one fairly local (about 30 miles away). We've eaten there, once. The food was great, but the honor and dignity shown to military, police, and fire personnel was even more impressive.

Thank you for sharing. We don't have one of those near me but I support and salute any and every business that knows what freedom means and is willing to risk losing everything to do what's right. We need more like them.

I've got a local smoke/ BBQ joint to me that is owned and run by a guy that was US Cavalry. The food is incredible and so are the portions. My wife and I have tried mission BBQ from a joint that was opened a few months back and the portions were much smaller, not as flavorful without heavy doses of sauce, and the prices were steeper.

I absolutely agree with their stance on military and first responders however their corporate chain strategy/mentality is why i will stick with my local smoked bbq shop. We should always support local mom and pop shops before going to chains.
