    Heads up!!! Good stuff cheap!

If you have an Aldi nearby, dig out a quarter and stock up!!!

    $9.00 a bottle!!!!

It's an off year for the market, but the standard is still solid.

Aldi is the outlet for the surplus, and wont last.

I'm guessing that this is wine? Can't buy wine or liquor at regular stores in Penna - only the state owned liquor stores.

I can do better down here. We have an Aldi store that sells wine, but across the road is really big ABC (alcoholic beverage control) store & they have shelves of wine for $6 bucks up to $50 bucks. Just pick your poison & your price! I usually get the stuff that costs $7-8. Brands are Liberty Creek, Barefoot. Sometime the Australian branded wines go on sale for the same & they are really good.

Folks should understand that it's the shopping cart that costs a quarter, not the wine. Or save a quarter & bring your own box or buggy. Or stand outside the store & grab a cart from an exiting shopper. That's what everyone down here does.

I had forgotten about ABC, and their "Red White and Blue" beer.
    Havn't seen one in decades.

The Montepulciano D' Abruzzo from Castorani, normally sells for 15-18 bucks, and is quite a step above the Aussie, and high volume California stuff.
It's a cheap way to step up the game at dinner.

We did a comparo between Aldi Pino Griggio, Pasqua, Barefoot, and a couple others at a Pig Pickin' last summer. Hands down, the Aldi Della Venezie is better balanced, better bodied, and all around the better Pino, despite being cheaper than the California stuff. I was surprised at the difference.
Aldi puts mid range imported and domestic stuff on the shelves, at low range prices, and occasionally gets a special buy, of really good stuff that scores in the 90's, and they keep it affordable.

A winery can sell it's own product to the public.

Everything else is sold/controlled by the PA State Store system.

But....you can't buy beer there - beer is sold by the case by distributors. For 6-packs it must come from bars/taverns/restaurants and can only buy 2 at a time.
