New Sub Forum? (money matters, retirement)

IMHO I think we should have a Sub Forum under "OFF Topic" ↓↓↓
    Retirement/Social Security/Health Insurance

I can think of two really good threads that would fit perfectly.
    https://www.greentractortalk.com/for...n-collect.html
    https://www.greentractortalk.com/for...en-retire.html

I've got one of the three topics done but I'm plowing my way through the other two.

If that were to come about, I'd suggest that it be widened just a bit to "Personal Finance". Then we could also lump in questions about Deere financing on purchases as well as things like tractor/equipment insurance. Those topics come up more often than Social Security or Medicare do.

I think a section on retirement planning/living is a great idea. My perception is that there are quite a few of us in that zone and you guys have a lot to contribute to the topic. I've been to retirement seminars, talked with my banker, read all kinds of stuff, etc. but there is nothing like the point of view of people in the midst of it.

    SO TRUE.
When my wife applied for SS the people at the local SS office either flat out lied to us or had no idea what they were talking about. Either way, IMO we got screwed.
If they start a new forum I'll explain.

How about just a plain “Financial” section? No need to be too specific - that can cover most everything we are talking about.

Maybe something titled “Financial Matters” or “Personal Finance” as a subsection in the Off Topic area like where the Political and Hunting/Gun titles are?

I would think any of the three you listed may steer people away. It would me.
My thought was, it's not about how much money people have or don't have but more about the three issues I listed. Sort of like help buying a new tractor for the first time having never sat on a tractor.

OK - my thought process was in a different direction. I thought you were talking about the recent retirement threads and stuff like that.
