GTT Member's Equipment Calendar

Just an idea I thought worth floating with no further coherence. Wouldn't it be great if someone with the right talent could pull together some really cool photos submitted by members of their equipment and make a real nice GTT Calendar? It could be a good reason for some of us to break out the soap and sponge for our tractors. Vying for a place in the calendar could make for a really fun contest.

Anyway, that's all I got.

This was my point exactly. It's actually a fair bit of work. As much as it would be cool, finding someone to do the legwork and getting the required pictures is a bit of a chore.

In my humble opinion, I think this is a great idea. It is very easy to put a calendar together on the web at a sight like Shutterfly. You just have to decide which picks for each month. Maybe based on "Likes." But you can't nominate yourself. For example, I nominate this pic for January. If it gets the most likes, it makes the Calendar.

Just to be clear, there isn't a single staff member or regular member that I know of that doesn't like the idea to include myself.

The problem is nobody has the time to manage this. When we did it before, it fell apart due to lack of participation as Kenny mentioned.

If someone wants to do this, we'd be supportive in your efforts.

Let me talk to my cousin. She puts together a family calendar every year with pictures from the previous year, highlighting all our birthdays. That might be a bit to much, but we could do 2-4 smaller photos per month, if there were enough submissions.

I'm not surprised to hear that it was tried some time ago, and credits to T-Mo. The difference today is that (I predict) there are many more members to participate.

I figure the key person to do this would be comfortable with graphic arts and who can dictate what is needed for photo size and quality and have the provision for receiving and handling those photos from people who don't know about this stuff.

It sounds like there is an interest in some good looking tractor photos, but not much interest in the work needed for a calendar. I sure wouldn't take that task on.

Perhaps the "dead" center column of the home page that hasn't been updated in 1.5 years could be utilized for tractor images. Maybe a Tractor Photo of the Week sort of thing, with the most recent image at the top and previous weeks descending until displaced off the page. It would be a good place to show off the bling and might be a nice enhancement to the home page.
