Question My Tractor has no forum!

I have a 1987 240 garden tractor. The "Vintage Lawn and Garden Tractor" forum (which is where I think it belongs) has a rather specific list of models, which the 240 didn't make. The "Lawn and Garden Tractor" forum says "post-1992", and mine is a 1987 model (The 240 was only made through 1989), so it doesn't belong there, either. (Personally, I think the division between the two forums should just be a date, but that could depend on your definition of "vintage".) I could post in "General Tractor Ownership and Operation" but most of my questions and comments will be model (or maybe series) specific. I suppose my brake questions could go in "Tractor and Equipment Safety".

Anyway, I need a Moderator decision, please. Don't want to offend anyone by posting in the wrong place.

    Thanks for your time.

I would still use the vintage forum, it's pre-1992. Any way they all show up if you use the what's new key

Yup, vintage. And don't sweat it. We'll move a thread that's posted in the wrong forum, no big deal. Our forum descriptions don't always cover all of the tractors JD made. But we'll find a way and make it work.

Wow, I love the "What's New" feature. Just an FYI to the bigs upstairs, I wasn't aware the feature existed. The "Google Custom Search" box covers it up on my IPad Mini.

It looks like the "What's New" button and the "New Posts" button do the same thing. May be an alternative for you.

As does the "You Have XXX Unread Posts" in the upper right corner. I know it does not look clickable, but it is.

Thank you all for your quick answers. I'm sorry I haven't been back, but I've been a little under the weather, the weather's been cruddy, and it messes up my phone lines (I have a dial up account), and when I'm grumpy I just don't have the patience to deal with it. Too wet to do any work on or with the tractor, anyway. (No workshop, shed, covered area to work in, just wet gravel. Or mud.) Can you tell I'm still a little out of sorts? Anyway, thanks for your time and advice.
