    American Landmaster YS200 4X2 LUTV

    This brand is built in LA & IN,sold at Menard's a few years back,now thru RV & power sports dealer network.Described as a 'light utility task vehicle',so as not to be compared against more robust design(Mule,gator,etc.)
    9hp Chink copy of the Honda engine,CVT drive,full suspension,lights,winch,etc. Light duty,sold when new for $3500 or thereabouts.The mfg'r sez that any & all parts are available for all years.

    Long story short,I have an opportunity to purchase one for a few hundred $$$;it's extremely clean,having been garaged and driven around the owners subdivision. Has anyone had any experience with this brand/model?

    RE;Land Master 200

    I've done further research into this brand;there were enough changes/improvements to warrant restyling. I'm aware of three owners and one landscape business employing five vehicles-all claim to be pleased with the reliability and performance. Sounds like a solid vehicle ......

    RE: Landmaster 200

    Update-
    I'm accumulated a little under 5 hrs running time so far,and,everything is as it should be.I've done quite a bit of research on the engine(known as 'GY6',a copy of an older Honda design),and practically all (self proclaimed) knowledgeable info sources indicate the copy engine to be a sound design. Surprisingly,there's a huge performance parts aftermarket -stroker cranks(2-8mm),big bore kits 170/180/200cc) and even turbo charger kits. I have to think that none of that would exist if the engines were short fused techno-turds....... Apparently,all of this speed stuff is driven(pun) by the popularity in drag racing scooters in both the near & far east. It's possible to enlarge the basic 125/150cc mill to 232cc(!),apparently with some longevity to boot(!).

    I've added a hour meter,and basically went over the entire vehicle checking whatever(the one common complaint about any of these American/Oriental vehicles seems to be inconsistent "QC" ) . The engine,being only 150cc(for the present,lol),revs freely and ,is,therefore 'buzzy',which translates into high frequency vibes/resonance to areas such as the double wall plastic dump bed. I'm 'OC' about that sh!t,so,the remedy is drilling many holes ,adding expanding foam,installing plastic plugs. Works extremely well.

    I'm curious to see what this vehicle is like after 50 or more hours.......
