JD Gator 855D Rear Axle Replacment

After a rough day on the trail I ripped a CV Boot! I also had a noise in the rear half axle on the same side. I decided to replace the half myself. It was difficult to remove until I you tubed it. Needless to say, there was not a video for the Gator. But a video on another UTV. Turns out, I needed to put a crowbar between the axle and the shaft, with a little pressure it simply pooped out.

Keep in mind the Axle fluid will come out as well, be prepared.

This is an easy do it yourself process. The Rear Half axle should cost you less then $100. Mine was $87 + gear oil.

    Hope this helps.

    Sincerely,

    Brenten Lavelle

Had the same issue. Was lucky to find these guys John Deere - ATV and UTV who had a good price on the axle.
I called them for some help getting the darned axle off, and they were great.
