worst complaint i have is when i first start it up to back out of garage-seems the belt doesn't want to take a hold right away, u have to play with the foot throttle quite a bit to move, but once warmed up-it seems A-OK then

BTW BigJim, I now pop the Gator into neutral and feather the gas a bit before trying to move. Seems moving the drive belt a bit helps.

Big Jim has a Cadillac, but I'm also seeing a Lincoln with that fancy sun shade and fenders. However, those brown racing slick tires aren't very Lincoln like.

Jim if you bought the warn winch with your Gator, it might just be a simple plug and play for the remote. To save some money I used the a kolpin winch, which works great but the remote (warn) was a little more difficult.

As far as the tires, the ones I bought are great on the back roads, now I don't use mine as a mud buggy so I don't know how they will do in mud, but I don't plan to find out either.

    what can i say

DRobison---yelp i got it out of the swamp.

628--i don't go mud bogging either- i'm pretty sure the tires u got, would do me fine here also. especially if less noise.

poor ole Charley boy is gonna go deaf if we don't get em changed out here soon. course he rides 80% of his time with his head hung out the window, so probably way less noise outside the cab for sure

unless its snowing or raining, then i make him sit inside.

    gator recall

i know i haven't posted for awhile on here lately.today i got a recall notice in mail on my gator(835R)

it says they want to replace the throttle cable due to the outside of cable possibly melting and then it sticks.

so far 9 incidents have been reported-no one seriously hurt it claims.

i doubt they have that many cables in stock-for all the gators they have sold--will attend to it when i take it in for service later.

just wanted to post it so others know about.

BigJim, Call the dealer now so they have the part with your name on it when you go in.

Big Jim, I received my notice also yesterday. Guess I will make a call to get it looked at, no service needed for me right now.

A safety issue that requires a recall, I'll bet the cables were ordered before the recall issued. Have they change the cable P/N, or maybe just the routing?

Z5--i didn't look that up to see if they changed the PN of the cableit's not going anywhere till i get caught up here at home-and i have to make a few calls first of where it will go then.

want to get a set of tires like 628 did for his gator--and then see what noises mine makes afterwards. its getting so darn loud i hate to run it now. my Maxis ARE about half wore down now--and i know i made them wear faster as we are riding on almost all blacktop roads, so.....................
