    2001 4x2 gator transmission problem

    Hi all,

gator recently starting popping out of forward gear. read up and replaced shift collar, shift block and spring. put all back together and now have the following problem:

when placing in forward now grinds and clutch does not turn. belt stays static and starts smoking a bit. take out of forward but seems to act like still in gear. belt not turning. reverse has very little travel and will not engage. downloaded the parts diagram from the transmission manufacturer and all parts are back in order. gotta be something i goofed up on but cannot figure it out. probably simple but would really appreciate the experts advice. almost like it is in forward all the time now. on the shift linkage on top of the trans plenty of travel forward but about half that in reverse.

    thanks,

    Mike

Did you clean both clutch’s throughly before you reassembled?

Did you make any adjustments to the linkage at any point?
