Question 825i with tracks, air filter clogging

Hello, I need help with air filter clogging and icing on my 825i gator. The unit has a factory installed deluxe cab, and camoplast tracks. The cab installation
also moved the air filter outside and behind the cab on passenger side. With deeper snow now, the tracks throw enough powder that the air filter plugs, and actually freezes up solid. Any of you have a solution to this ? Thanks. Ladysmith.

A picture of the modification would be very helpful, but just off the top of my head what about some type of shield in front of the filter to prevent the snow getting to it?

You need a pre-filter similar to what snowmobiles use. You can easily make pre-filters for your air and CVT intakes from this material or you can use pantyhose

Yep, pics will be informativ. A sheltered position may also help.

I have had the same problems with engines in the past. The answer is to get the filter to get warmed air from the engine compartment.
However you choose to do this is up to you. Outside air filters are fine in warmer weather.
Screens, deflectors won't help with fine snow
    Been there, done that

it sounds like you have the sound reduction air cleaner relocation kit installed..(quiet kit) which put your air cleaner outside the cab..you could return it to stock or fabricate a deflector to shield the aircleaner
