    Gator 4x2 issue

    I have a 2001 Gator 4x2.

After putting it in gear and pressing the gas pedal, you hear a groaning noise and it feels like something is trying to keep it from moving (almost like the brakes are still on). It DOES move, however.

Any suggestions on what to look at to fix this?

    How many hours on it?
When was the last time the belt was changed.

Belt is an excellent place to start. If you lift the bed you can see the parking brake linkage, does it all move correctly when the handle is released?
