I don't really know why but the 825i's have far better reviews.

I have a 2016 825i. I have two friends that each own older 625is. Both have over 1000 hours on them. I am not aware of any major problems they have had with them.

Both owners stated that my 825i has more power & is not as noisy as their 625i.

No real major issues.. A couple concerns.
Biggest problem is see is gas in oil caused by short tripping. Putting around to the mail box ect. Will cause the oil level to increase. If it is allowed to get really overfilled, it will get sucked up in the crankcase vent to the intake at the throttle body. It will smoke, run rough, fouls plugs. Gums up the throttle body.I see several a year like this.
There were some axle shaft failures early on. So check axles for torn boots.
Good news is.. There wasnt any clutch/belt/ transmission problems!

Is this a problem with the 560 also? I'm sure our 560 did this very thing.
Why is this? Our CX never had this problem.

No probs with the 550 and I'm often driving short ways.

It's very interesting to hear about the midclass gators. They haven't been sold in Germany and so I've no experiences or heard about this type.

It can happen to any small engine. The crankcase temp never gets hot enough to "boil" off the gas that ends up in the crankcase. The air cooled Briggs in the 550/560 seem to heat up quicker than the water cooled Kaws. But.. It can happen with any small engine.

Picked her up today. 2012 625i with 325 hrs. New windshield and seats. Runs great. No issues so far.

Gonna use it around our new 5-acre parcel for property work, dropping of trash cans at the entrance, running to the neighbors, etc.

Looks good from here and someone seems happy. Have fun and good luck with it.
