    John Deere Celebrating 50 Years of Lawn Tractors

    We posted this on our Facebook Page today and think this is a very cool old ad. I particularly chuckle at the 2 guys holding cigarettes in the background. You don't see that anymore!!

    That seven horsepower, three speed 110 was far superior to anything built at the time. If I remember correctly, the selling price was $795.00. My Dad chose to keep ours for the year for our own use and sold it the following year. Great machine.

    While I agree that is a very cool picture, it is not a classic ad. It is a scene from an episode of Mad Men. Later in that episode they had an accident with that machine.
