Cat D4H Dozer from Southern Indiana to Central Indiana (70 Miles)

We need to move a Cat D4H Dozer from southern Indiana to Central Indiana this summer to aide in building a pond. We would move it July/August and return it in the fall. The trip is about 70 miles one way and it weighs about 22,500 lbs. A link to Ritchie Specs is below. Please let me know if anyone out there can help. I would rather give the business to someone on here if possible.

Give me a little bit and I'll get back to you on it. I know a couple different people that may be able to help you out if we cant. At the 22,500 you're pushing what we can have a hot shot do it for. The problem is if the guy isn't in the area, that makes for a pricey 70 miles. Good on you to start looking this early though what is Zip to Zip please?

Word of Caution..........my D4Hxl3 ........weights just short of 30k ......while i respect Ritchies info you might need to do some checking around.....the difference between 22k and 30k can be a significant trailer difference

for mine that is a cab model, with ripper and full of fuel etc....i will add pictures of information directly from caterpillar shortly

Thanks guys! 47265 is the starting zip and ending at 46239. It's the north end of that zip code. Using North Vernon, IN as the departure and Cumberland, IN as arrival would probably give you a more accurate estimate.

Thankfully, it's ROPS only, no cab. A pic is attached, as is the serial # info. It's a Series II and not LGP, so hopefully that 22,500 is accurate. Let me know if you know that it isn't.

I am guessing your ok as long as it just has the drawbar on the back (rippers add at least #1500 ......also looks like it has slightly oversized track shoes like a LGP but if it were a LGP it normally would show up on the stamped model number ....so your close ....it wouldnt even be a issue except your right at the very upper limit of what a hotshot type hauler might try to haul ...it would be a easy load for a equipment hauler

I appreciate the input and info. Only a drawbar on the rear and unless someone made a real effort to remove all the labeling, it's not LGP. I haven't measured the tracks though.

As long as it's under 10ft in height and 8 1/2ft wide so you don't have to get into permitting.
The other thing that happens here to is a lot of guys won't load this on a step, because unlike hotshots, they value their ramps
My neighbor has a detach though with a 25ft well and he moves equipment for auctions for a living, so this would be right up his alley. I'll give him a ring later today and see what a quote would be for you. Hopefully not to bad since he could do while passing through since you don't have hard dates it needs to be moved.
Shame this wasn't 3 weeks ago it needed to be moved, he came all the way back from Florida empty

Awesome! Thanks for connecting the dots on this. If it works out, hopefully he could make the return trip too. We have plenty of flexibility in our schedule.

That's a long haul when empty. Every mile is more in the red!
