If You Live In The Country, You Might Want One Of These . . .

I have a rural mail box in addition to a PO boxes in town. Some people like to take mail from the rural/street box, hence most mail goes to the PO box. . . but not all.

However, for Missey and me, getting mail out of the rural box can be challenging from a too low car or too high truck.

Hence, I finally did this . . . 1/8" tempered board slightly small than the inside of the box and a 1" grab hole to pull that mail that's way in the back forward for easier pickup.

Maybe nobody else has this problem, but . . . maybe someone does and has been wondering about a fix.

Sweet idea. I might copy it. Might even put a low strip right at the back end to bring stuff with it.

    Thanks.

I'm sure it's fine with no strip but won't hurt to add at the same time.
Go the xtra mile and throw some cabinet rails under it and a motor lol.

But to the OP. That's pretty nifty. That's one of those ideas you have and then you do it. Then you post it on a forum to help your fellow people out. Then 1 year later you find it on "as seen on tv" 2 for $20. Act now and we double the order for free!
Then you are sitting there kicking yourself in the rear end. I've done had a few of those ideas make someone else rich .

A US patent was granted in 1906 for something similar.

The object is to provide a mail-box with an automatically sliding receptacle which will bring the mail deposited in the box far enough out when the door is opened.

Great idea! We have one of the T3 sized boxes (22" x 8" x 11") and at times the mail carrier flicks a single envelope all the way in the back. The board would be a great way to retrieve it!

Marlin should be safe. His is not hooked to the door.

How many years is a patent good for any way?

That would suck- bringing your mail forward and it's a letter from the patent attorney concerning infringement with your device?
