New rear tires and rims on Ford 8N

My Ford 8N’s rear tires were starting to split on the sidewalls and the rims were rusting through. I ordered new Carlisle 11.2-28 rear tires from Amazon and new Titan rims (made in USA,) and tubes from eBay. Everything arrived today, all a day ahead of scheduled delivery. I spent the evening mounting new tires and tubes and getting the old rims and tires off the tractor. The new tires are on but I need to pick up some new wheel bolts, the last rim I was taking off 5 of 6 bolts broke off at the nut. Wasn’t too bad of a project, about 2 1/2 hours total. Getting the 8N ready for second hay cutting if the weather holds out over the next few days.

I trimmed and restriped the wires, added a new plug and I was good to go. I'm really glad I started at the front, I wasn't looking forward to trying to find this problem.

I need to find a way to protect the plug, it sits outside all of the time.

I drape mine over the top of the jack stand and cover it with a small plastic bucket. Protects the jack stand and plug.

My dump trailer has a tool box on the tongue,,
right under the lid is a "U" shaped slot just big enough for the cable that leads to the plug.
The cable is just long enough for the plug to be placed in the toolbox slot before the lid is closed.

I have kept my plug in that box for 20 years,, the plug looks and works like brand new.

A steel ammo box could be attached near the plug, and used the same way,,,

Does this also serve as a reminder to stow the jack properly before traveling.
