1026R and 54" JD front mount snow thrower (Hydraulic Float Position)

I hope I am in the right forum; What does it mean and how do you put the snow thrower in Hydraulic Float position?
    Thanks,
    Dixdaman

When you push the hydraulic joystick forward past the first detent the stick will snap into (and stay) in the float position. The float position connects both cylinder ports to return allowing the cylinder (or snowblower in this case) to use it's own weight to follow the contours of the ground. The snowblower will go up and down on it's own as needed while staying in contact with the ground. Essentially the joystick has four positions going from back to front. Lift, neutral, lower, then float.

    What he said!

Sometimes it takes a sharp, quick push or jab forward to get the joystick the "snap" into the float position, especially when it's never and never used.

Practice with the machine OFF to prevent unwanted wheelies till you get the hang of it.
