I built it for pine needles which it has proven very effective with. I filled a 12' dump trailer four feet deep in one section of the front yard. The steel fan with sharp edges shreds the needles / leaves in tiny pieces that pack tightly in the containers. Works well with maple leaves also. The eight inch tube will plug with wet material if the ground speed is too fast. For less than two hundred dollars its a great machine. With mostly slip connections it takes less than fifteen minutes to attach or take off. It stores neatly on a shelf.
