Well I finally found a good used box blade. Its a 6 foot Howse. Its an older one, made in the USA, and in pretty good shape minus the paint. Both cutting edges are still sharp and I have a lead on some new ripper teeth from a guy at work. Its the heavy duty model with the heavy big hitch plates and it also has a hinged back blade. So my question to you guys, should I do a full on restoration of it to get it looking a bit nicer, or just power wash it and leave it as is? I would like to take a flap wheel to all of it and paint the black parts black again and the box portion green.... But on the other hand, its perfectly usable as is, and once I change the lower pins out for some that arent so rusty and get another top pin itll function 100% as it should. Part of me wants it to look nice and shiny and "new" but the other part knows it will just get all scuffed up using it. So opinions wanted! And here are a few pics. Also, has anyone used a box blade of this size on a 2520? I really would have rather had a 5 footer and not this 6 footer but he told me it was a 5 footer and I didnt even realize it to be a 6 footer till I already had it loaded in the bed of my truck. I have used it some but not enough to really know if my tractor will handle it. I know a 5 footer would be better sized to this tractor but for moving gravel the 6 footer sure is nicer.
