    Fastenal Shipping rocks !

Just received my order from Heavy Hitch. Ordered Receiver Hitch Dual Weight Bracket, 12 pcs- 70lb suitcase weights, rolling cart, and a 57" toothbar. Shipping came out to over $1000. Asked about alternate shipping and for $150, it was dropped off at my nearest Fastenal Store 15 minutes up the road. Now just need to take off the backhoe after I dig up my septic cover, and start loading up the Heavy Hitch....

Great post as I was not aware that Fastenal did this. When I ordered an aerator recently, I ordered it from a site that offered free shipping to a "depot."

In future purchases, I know that I will be more cognizant and diligent in asking about free or greatly reduced (as in your example) shipping!

Last year when I found a snowblower and quick hitch at a dealer in NE, I looked into several different options regarding truck freight shipping. I even contacted Chris (Artillian) to see if he had any aces up his sleeve. I don't think we looked into Fastenal. The seller (John Deere dealership) suggested that he could ship it to a dealer in my area. I laughed out loud. In my experience, these guys won't go out of their way unless they are making money! He called one and they agreed. He did say that he offered them something for their trouble, but I can't imagine it was much. I think we were only looking at a savings of $100 in shipping. For me, though, picking up on my schedule is more convenient than sitting around waiting for a delivery truck who won't even come up my driveway. I will definitely be looking into Fastenal if/when there is a next time.

The Fastenal loading dock kid said he sees a lot of farm/tractor parts come through..... I think he said the max they charge is $150 per crate/pallet. Amazing savings

We have a unique situation with Fastenal since we are located right behind their national distribution center so we're able to get product out to just about any one of the 2600+- stores for a very reasonable rate. The great thing is the cost is based more on pallet size and not weight.
