    Looks like a JD No. 6 Loose Ground Lister Planter.

    Looks like a #6 to me. Here's one ready to go back to work, after a total tear-down and refurb.





    Here's what it looked like before. Lucky for me, everything was there except the fertilizer section.

    Looks like she's seen better days but I think most of that will buff right out!

    Appears to be in good shape mechanically. Goal is to plant sweet corn this spring then we'll look at getting a new coat of paint. Any idea if parts exist for these? It's missing the markers.

    If the link works, you can download the parts PDF here..http://jdpc.deere.com/jdpc/pdfs/PC0457.pdf. Then you can get on JDparts.com to search for in-stock parts. It wouldn't surprise me if you find some parts available. The markers are pretty simply constructed, take a peek at the markers on the pictures in my reply. I hope you got a couple of large springs, that look like garage door springs, when you picked it up. They are the balance springs to help with picking the unit up out of planting position.
