    Pull behind JD plug aerator

Anybody have one of these? If so, how do you like it? I saw the JD model at the dealer when I bought my 1025r but thought $470+ was a bit high. I currently use my 24Ē self propelled plug aerator (twice a year on my yard) that Iím just tired of using, looking for a suitable replacement.

Last fall I bought a DR Equipment 3 pt hitch plug aerator. I think it was on sale for $499.99 I also have some other pics of it on a 3 pt aerator thread. I'd post them here again, but I don't know how to do that...

The date of the thread was around 9/21/2017 if you want to search for it.

I also bought one of the DR 3 pt aerators last fall. It was too late in the season for me to use it so it's sitting in the shed right now, waiting for spring to come.

I'd look for a 3pt hitch type.Just be sure the pin height will work with you limited hitch height.

I purchased a front Quick Hitch mount for my de-thatcher. The fellow that builds it is planning on constructing an adapter to mount an aerator to it as well. You may want to consider waiting for it as being front mounted would have some advantages and you would be able to put down pressure on it, also.

I have a Turfco self-propelled unit that I use once a year. It works well and for what I have, more than adequate.

I have it. It works just fine on my x540, i put 4 suitcase weights on it, it pulls out 3 inch plugs. no problems in performance at all.

The only downside i can think of is storage of it, because of the weight and sharp tongs, it is awkward to handle after you take it off the tractor.
It needs careful effort to move it into the shed.

I have a new 1025r too, but have not used the aerator on it yet. I Imagine it should work just fine. it may need a extension on the hitching hole since the tractor is much larger.

Not sure if it's the same as what you are looking at or not, but the neighbor has one that converts from thatcher to plug aerator.
I borrowed it last fall and it worked so so.
Was a couple days after a rain, and I had probably 150 lbs on it.
My craftsman rider couldn't pull it up the slight slope of my yard due to traction issues, so I used my fourwheeler. That worked well.
    I pulled 1-2" cores.
I plan to use it again this spring when the frost comes out, hopefully after a rain so the ground is softer. Hoping for better results this time.

I'd like to get a 3 point model, but the funds aren't there and if the one my neighbor has works, then why?
