I ran across an option to buy a Deer and Mansur single-row, horse drawn, planter. I have no idea of the value of this and while I would love for this to be a great project to complete with the kids, I don't want to pay more than it's worth and I have nothing to go off of as far as original pictures, since I can't place the model # or any original photos online.
1) Based off of the pictures, what year & model is this?
2) Does anyone know of, or have any literature on this type of corn planter? Is it just that rare? I know it came before the 999 but I can't find any literature on Deere and Mansur's prior work. (I've looked everywhere on the internet and can't find anything of significance).
3) I have the option to buy for $215. Is this worth it? (I talked to an auctioneer in Iowa (He had no pictures) and said "horse drawn planters go from anywhere in the $100-$300 range".
Thank you so much for any help you can provide.
The website was not letting me upload the pics of the implement, so here's a website link:
