    Inland 4' snow blower

I came across a local ad for an Inland 4' 3 pt snow blower. Does anyone here have any experience with this brand? I did some searches and it sounds like they no longer exist. The seller seems very nice and tried to talk me out of it. He says he has it on a Kubota L2250 and runs it on the high PTO speed to move snow. Tractor data shows that tractor as having a 1000 RPM option on the rear. He also said that could not fathom running a bigger blower than this on his 2250. Does that make any sense? I would have assumed that a 4 foot blower would work well on my 2305.

    Thoughts?

Never heard of that brand, but make sure its a 540 RPM version...and if it is, and he was running it at 1000 RPM there maybe be some premature gearbox wear to be concerned about. If you need/want a second set of eyes to go look at it lemme know...

    Kenny,
Thanks for the input. The guy is out of town until Monday now. I am not sure if it is worth going to see. He insists it is in great shape. He also claims he really has not used it since he purchased 3 years ago (post Snowmagedden). But, he also said he is selling because we really have not had any snow in the past 3 years. I want to know how he missed all of the storms we had last year!

Basically, his stories don't seem to add up. But, his effort to talk me out of it leads me to believe he is not trying to be dishonest. I think he is just an interesting fella!

Do you think it will have the PTO speed marked on the unit? Isn't 540 a fairly standard PTO speed? He is so close to me that riding over to see it will only be a matter of coordinating a time to meet him. He told me it is outside hanging on the back of his tractor.

540 is pretty standard now, but there was a lot of implements made in Canada and oversees that used the higher speed PTO's. But he was still using it at almost twice the rated speed then...I aggree with you, something doesn't add up.

    Bloody Canadians......can't trust 'em.

I wanna say that I remember "inland" as a small manufacturer of augers, blowers, etc. I think we had an old Inland auger when I was a kid. I wonder if they were swallowed up by Farm King or Buhler or an outfit like that???

I think if it is a 1000rpm PTO it should have a 21 spline hookup versus the 6 spline for the 540, I think. I didn't know they made little tractors with 1000RPM PTO's.....

I think I read somewhere that it was Buhler that bought them. As for the PTO speed, this is another data point that does not exactly add up. He told me he had a Kubota L2250. He said it had 3 PTO speeds. Tractordata shows this tractor with 2 PTO speeds, 540 and 1000. Tractor data has been wrong before. I could have misunderstood him.

The more we discuss, the more I think I need to go see this thing. I may give him a call next week. The next question, of course, is what is this thing worth? Let's say it is a 540 RPM 4' blower and it is decent condition. He may have spun it faster than intended, but if I can't see where he trashed a bearing or something like that, what is it worth?

We have discussed the inconvenience of a rear blower. But, I really don't have a lot of money in the budget for a blower. Our winter weather here is wildly unpredictable.

    Thoughts to ponder,

    Lee

    Inland 4' snow blower

I'd say 1000$ tops. Does it have hydraulic chute rotation or angling?

I will give the guy a call one evening this week. I am curious enough to at least go look and get some pictures. Now I just need to find the time! I don't think it has any hydraulics, and now thanks to the research, it is likely more than a dozen years old! None of this is painting a pretty picture for me.
