EX3200 yanmar/cc and the “thumb” grapple

Just ordered a “thumb” add on grapple for the ex3200. And a diverter valve kit from Artillian.
Parts should show up next week, think it will be a great add on to tractor.
    Thanks for help Kennyd.

Thanks - now I see what it is.

Certainly not plug and play after watching the installation video.

It's also 1/3 of the price of many grapples. I have one and it works pretty well. I didn't watch the entire installation video you mentioned, but my bracket is pretty simple - a piece of square tubing supported by a couple of flat steel plates bolted into the side of the bucket. I bought the steel, took the measurements and then had a local kid welder cut the steel and do the welding. The hardest part was figuring out where to drill the holes in the bucket. I "roughed in" the bracket and drilled two holes. The mounted the bracket and positioned the whole assembly to the jaw was lightly touching the Piranha Tooth Bar when it was fully closed. Drilled the remaining holes and bolted it up! It's worked fine ever since.

The Thumb is kind of a compromise with not having a "real grapple". It usually suits my purposes though. From time to time I kick around the idea of buying a real grapple, but Sweetie has learned to count implements in the yard and she's starting to notice when I bring new stuff home.

Mark02tj, Thought mine was going to bolt directly to top of bucket.
Why did you attach the way you did?
    Look really nice
    Thx

I would venture a guess that the top of the bucket is much too flimsy - it would get bent quickly.

ummm, NOT MY BUCKET!! I have a 3-series, not one of those puny 2-series tractors!

I'm not sure if the top of the bucket would have bent, but there is definitely that possibility. The TRUTH of the matter is this... I'd already mounted my KEN'S BOLT ON HOOKS AND CLEVISES and didn't want to uninstall or move them.

And, I figured that the bracket would give me more flexibility if I needed to adjust the angle of how the Thumb closed.

Got it, I may add 2 or 3 gussets on the underside of where the grapple is going to go to stiffin up the top lip.
Am thinking it will fit in between my 2 kbok’s.....I may well have the same bucket as you just different color

Oh yeah, where did you get your 3rd function kit?
