Tiller size and rotation suggestions for 4044r

Looking for some insight, I’d like to get a tiller for the 44r. Not for commercial applications, but for around the house. Want a garden, have some landscaping to do in new and old sod, that kind of stuff.

Had a 42 hydraulic on the 322 years ago and really liked the reverse tine tilling as it was very easy to control and did a superb job. Sold that tiller when I lived in town, now we have 6 acres.

I have spent some time here and the internet searching for the right size. 72” clears my tires, or an 84”

From the consensus here it seems like the king kutters are the best bang for the buck and available through my local rural king.

So 72” can be had in either forward or reverse, 84” appears to be available in forward only.

At 34 PTO HP can the 44r even haul an 84” tiller?

And any other advise you have to offer is much appreciated.

I would say you are safely in the HP range for a 72" but right at the minimum required for a 84".
