Older John Deere 205a flail mower roller

I purchased a flail mower but it is missing the roller and mounting brackets. I would like to build my own roller and brackets but cannot locate the dimensions for the roller and end shafts. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

The rollers are usually 3" in diameter.

You can get the flange or pillow block bearings at Grainger or McMaster Carr.

You might check a local driveline shop to see if they can weld up the ends and keep the end shaft concentric to mount to the pillow blocks.

Unless, of course you have your own welder.

I'd suggest going with at least 1/4" cold rolled steel for the tubing to build the roller.
