New tractor with older hydrualic equipment

I purchased a 2032r this spring and I'm currently looking at a FEL mounted plow which is older and kind of rough.
What level of concern should have with the implements hydraulic fluid being contaminated?
Does any one drain the fluid prior to use?

I don't want to mess up my shiny new toy

    Thanks

The older hydraulics used different fluids. I would never use one without draining and flushing them to prevent contamination.
