    RanchEX Cat 1 quick hitch

Got a ranchex cat 1 quick hitch delivered today from Amazon for 149 including shipping. First impression of the hitch and how it fits is pretty good. The finish of the hitch isn't as pretty as pretty as an imatch hitch but for 149 I wasn't expecting anything better than I might weld and paint in my backyard. I am by no means an expert at either if those things. In short it looks as good as I expected it to. The paint doesn't match but that is fixable.

The important part of it though is that it fit exactly like it should. The "cat 1" version of the quick hitch doesn't require bushings to fit cat 1 implements. I tried it on my box blade and it fits perfect. It's rock solid with no slop in the pins. I also have no issues with the top hook not fitting.

One thing that is a plus for the x700s that I didn't think about (this is true for any quick hitch) the added length the quick hitch puts between the tractor and the implement means the implement gets raised higher in the air. I didn't measure it to say for sure but there is a definetly more ground clearance on my box blade now. For us limited cat 1 hitch folks that's a really nice plus that isn't mentioned as a benefit of a quick hitch.

So for 149 bucks I'm pretty happy with this purchase and it is so much better than pulling pins and lining up the draw bars.

Yea that thing is staying right where it is. They should really just come as a standard part of the 3PH. I don't get why they are an optional extra.

Funny thing is they are pretty much standard on larger tractors.

They should extend that to the smaller tractors as well. Us little guys need some love too.

It actually looks very substantial and fairly well engineered - built.
I would say you got great value for the money.

I like that you don't need the bushings. Those suckers aren't cheap and add up.

It depends where you get them. Back when Bularis was around they sold bushing sets for $10.99 w/pins. I bought several sets at the time. I've seen them for around $12.99 as well. Unless you have a whole barn full of implements the bushing cost isn't over whelming. You also have the option to use tubular bushings that fasten with a lynch pin and can easily be moved from implement to implement (keep them on only the most used implements).

But... there's no arguing that bushings are a PITA in general. We still don't really know how the whole Cat-3 sized bushing thing got started to begin with.

When I bought it there were 16 available at that price. Who knows maybe my post encouraged people to buy the remaining 15. Honestly for 149 with "free" shipping it was a great deal. I really do like the no bushings bit. I was also very happy to see that there were no top link issues like others have reported with the harbor freight quick hitch.

I just looked on Amazon here is the link to what I bought there are still 8 available.
