Santa came early this year...new chipper

New toy... any pointers on the set up?
Also do any of the experts on here see any issue with cutting the pto shaft? I need the chipper to be able to exchange between my 1 series Deere and my brothers 3 series Kubota.

As far as cutting the PTO shaft. You do not want it too long. Where it could bottom when implement is raised to where shaft will be shortest.

No issues at all with cutting the PTO. Just make sure that the final length ends up being the proper length for both machines. You don't want it ending up being too long or two short on one of the tractors.

1025RTLB, You may end up with two PTO shafts. Nothing wrong with that.

It might difficult to make it work on both of those tractors, but remember, the shaft is the shortest when it straight level between the implement shaft and the tractor shaft.

Thank all of you for your advise! I was thinking, if I use a quick hitch for the Deere and he does not, I may not even have to make any cuts... gotta wait till the week end to play and see...
