    Quick attach 54D mowing deck

Just got a 1023e. The deck is not a quick attach deck as you have to take the PTO shaft off manually. Would it be expensive to add the feature ? Is this something I could do?

Thought I remember doing an install right up. Note with the change to the new style mower connect bars, the kit numbers might be different. (If your mower connect bar has not been replaced, now would be the time if buying the auto connect kit. the flat steel hangers x4 cost about $40 each if bought separately)

If I were going to do this all over again, I'd get the kind you have and save the money. Even with the auto-mating PTO connection, you still have to get down and make sure everything has connected up right before engaging power. And sometimes the auto-connect doesn't. After several years, I think I have everything adjusted to where it clicks in every time, but overall I would have spent less time with the manual connection approach.

A new twist on my thinking! Good point, I could use the extra money on implements! Thanks!

Yea I also would save the money for something else. I have it on my x758 and it is nice but I still have to get off and check it. Also at the end of the season when switching to the snow blower I have to take it off or move it up into the overhead carrier. The driveshaft in my opinion can be hooked up easily and quickly. Actually quicker if the auto connect misses it's mark. Drive over deck absolutely a yes but auto connect not so much.
