48" front mount snowblower drive shaft fell off....

My 82 yr old father-in-law called me today and said his drive shaft on his snowblower disconnected from the blower when he was using it. He has used It numerous times already this winter and no problems. He did say that he had raised it all the way up before backing up and that's when it disconnected. I helped him install it this last fall and noticed his drive shaft had a plastic guard around it. I have the 54" blower and it didn't have a plastic guard on it. His tractor is a 2019 model as well as mine. He has the 1025r. I'm thinking maybe ice between the guard and driveshaft may have pushed on the sleeve that connects and disconnects the driveshaft for installing. Has anyone had this issue? I'm going to go over and see if I can see what happened and put if back together if it's an easy fix. If not I guess he will have to call the dealer.

Did it disconnect from the snow blower end of the shaft?

The snow blower end is secured with a spring pin through a hole. In addition, there should be a heavy piece of solid wire running through the center of the spring pin to act as a safety wire to prevent the pin from falling out.
