Help - damaged my new poly cart on first use.

Being a new first time owner I did a very stupid thing tonight. Using the poly cart behind my new x738 I turned a sharp corner and put a nice white crease in the cart because it rubbed up against the iMatch 3-point hitch. Luckily it didn’t puncture, but it is obviously weakened there and if I do it again will probably break through eventually.

Probably a stupid question..... but, is there any type of extension available? Or do I have to take the 3-point hitch off to use any pull behinds?

The simple solution would probably be to mount a drawbar on your 3pt hitch and use that for towing the cart.

    Got pics of your setup?

I can get pictures tomorrow. It’s too dark now to get a decent one. Sorry. Didn’t even think of that. I will get both tractor and cart.

    Thanks

I too think a draw bar would be the solution, either a straight bar (old style) mounts to the plate and extends back between 12" - 18" or the 3 pt version

    I like my setup.

My Dad gave me that metal piece years ago. It's been on a 425, 2210 and now my 1026R. It's a piece af metal with 2 holes in it to match the holes on the tractor. Never comes off until I buy a new tractor. Then it comes off and goes on the new one. It's just to easy to change to a different way.

If you're only concerned about the trailer, extending its tongue is also an option. Just place another beam inside the existing tongue channel. I did that for my 10 cu ft trailer so I could haul brush without limbs hitting the back of my head. (Mine is 48". You might choose a shorter extension to maintain a higher tongue weight.)

Your setup is exactly what I was trying to describe for the OP. Pictures speak more than a 1000 words in print!!!

My 650, poly cart, and quick hitch play nicely together,,

I always seem to turn that trailer rery sharp when I back it up,,
the trailer will swing REAL fast,,,

The trailer drawbar would be easy to lengthen,,,
Some of the tractors include JD 4105, JD 855, JD 650,,,, and,,, the IH 584 4WD
My favorite attachment is the homemade landplane,,, EVERYONE needs one of those!!
