Dad bought this JD 20 dirt scoop 45-50 years ago at a farm auction. Though made for a 20-30 HP tractor, we used it with the 58 HP 720D. As long as you paid attention, it worked fine. Then, my uncle put it on his 4010! He caught something & bent it quite a bit. We got it straightened out & re-enforced it. These re-enforcement's were meant for use, not looks!
I decided yesterday, this would make a good addition to my 40S at tractor shows. Brought it up from out back this morning with the 790 & loader. This afternoon, I started cutting off the ugly welds, it took five 1/8" cutting disks with the angle grinder & some cleanup with the grinding wheel:
When I finish cleaning & sanding it, I'll have to use a little body filler in places where I cut too deep & one dimple where the pipe was bent. JD "Classic Green" paint & period decals it'll be ready for shows!
