    Post hole digger rental

    How large an auger can a 2032r handle for tree planting? Would like 18" wide.

    Second question does anyo e know where in CNY I might be able to rent a 3pt model?

    I would say 18" is pretty big for most ground conditions here in NY.

    I don't think you can get larger than a 12" for a cat 1 3-point PHD.

    Yes, 18 inch augers are available. I've got one.
    Needed it to drill footings for my deck.
    (County required 14 inch, but 18 was the smallest I could buy that was at least 14).

    My neighbors have a 24" auger bit for a Cat I post hole digger. They used it for planting small trees on the back of an older Massey Ferguson.

    Sunbelt Rentals is the "biggie" around me but your dealer may know of other places. Some dealers rent out equipment short term too.

    The dirt on the old Long tractor they had buried down by their barn got pretty deep, I guess they just wanted to be ahead of the game when it came to the old MF...
