Question Backhoes & tall guys (fitment questions)

In my search for my first tractor that is larger than an x758 I am considering adding a backhoe at the time of purchase. None of my 4 local dealers have a backhoe on any of the tractors on their lot. I'm still lightly undecided on a backhoe, however I do believe one would be useful to have on hand so I can do things at my pace and not be limited by a mini-ex rental. My question is whether or not to spend $8-12k. Growing up fitment in sports cars and snowmobiles and Cessna's always was a PITA due to height. I don't expect the backhoe to fit like a formula one car I'm just wondering if fitment should be a factor, it's a shame I cant find a local TLB.

How do other tall guys fit on the backhoe on these tractors? Is it beyond uncomfortable? Are the levers improperly placed for tall guys with long arms and legs?

Considering the purchase of a new:

    2032R w/ 270B
    3033R w/ 385A

I'm 6'2" (with logger boots add 2" more inches) and weigh 215lbs.

    Thanks guys,

There's nothing easy about getting onto my 1025 backhoe. It's all like a choreographed ballet to mount.
But it's so worth it when you need to do some digging around the homestead.

I am 6 feet 2 inches and 250 lbs. I step on the out rigger with my right foot, pivot to face the boom, place my hand on the boom and slide my left foot across the deck while leaning over the bar above the controls. Then just sit down. It works well for me. Once in the seat there is plenty of room for me.

You just have to find what works for you. My 1025r and backhoe are 2019 models.

I would not have the tractor without the backhoe.

Can't comment much on the BH but a 152 is tight with a couple guys in the front seats. 182 sure has more shoulder room. I am 6'4" and a good 250.

I appreciate the info on the 1025R and the 260B. I'm hoping a few guys with the larger 2 and 3 series tractors like I'm looking at will respond. Just in case there is a variance in fitment. Thank you though

I'm 6'4" and a bit over 260#. I fit in the 1025r backhoe alright. The seat slides forward towards the steering wheel and I have to sort of twist around to get into the seat, but it works. Love my backhoe, there's always something for it to do around my place.

I'm 6'3" 275lbs and have no fitment issues on my 3320's 447 hoe which is probably the same as the 375. Its easy to get on/off, decent foot room for my size 12's and the controls fit me well. The seat has 2 height positions of which I use the highest and I suppose by drilling another hole in the seat post it could go even higher. The seat base has 4 or 5 positions where it can be bolted to the post which gives it range of around 4" fore and aft. I've never bothered to change it from the closet in stock position since it seems fine for what I do.

6'2" and 175. I fit fine. You'll want to buy Kenny's backhoe step. The operator's platform is pretty high and the step from KBOGH makes a big difference. I have an older 1025R and I also had to devise a way to get the hydraulic connections off the operator's platform. But it is all very comfy at this point.
