    Frontier RC2048 setup

I have spent a great deal of time trying to get the RC2048 set up according to specs mounted on the 2025R with imatch

Top link on the bottom hole on the 2048

lift links on the bottom holes of the 2048

No way can I get 2 inches lower on the front and and have the float pin in the center of the slot.

hooking up a rotary cutter should be simple

wondering if lift arms and top link are set up correctly

Any suggestions and would be appreciated .Thanks

Have you adjusted the tail wheel? And, why are you trying to pitch the front down 2"

I'm about 1/2 inch down on the front now and would like to get more , not necessarily 2 inches but that's what the manual suggests.

following the manual : set the cut height ( with the front 2 inches lower than the back) drop the tail wheel down to the ground . Then get the float link close to center using the top link. If i do that it throws the setup out of adjustment by lowering the back of the RC.

I'm using the cutter but it's not setup the way the manual says it should be setup.

does anyone have this combo gen 2025R, imatch and 2048 and have it setup according to the manual or close with even
an inch drop front to rear

    I've adjusted the tail wheel.

How much drop do you like to have on your rotary cutter?

I don't, we actually run out cutters level or at times we actually run with the front just a little higher than the back, makes for a real nice cut as long as you're not cutting big stuff.

    I have a gen 2 2025R and RC2048.
Ive attached a couple of photos that show the deck relatively flat, and after some adjustment, it is a bit nose high. Like Pat, I like the cut better that way, and easier to use in hilly/rough terrain-recognizing the need to be mindful of rocks and rises that arenít as wide as the cutter.

Im sorry I canít take photos of where I have the tail etc set at. The tractor has been at the dealership since April, but thatís a different story....

I'm with you on level or slightly higher on the front when I'm cutting grassy or weedy places

I have some places where I keep saplings for deer browse . I cut trails through the saplings and rotate the trails every couple of years or so. Sometimes the saplings can be up to 1 inch and dense. I like to cut about 4 or 6 inches high. I prefer my cutter to be a couple of inches lower on the front.

I appreciate your input on this . I know from other threads you have lots of experience with different implements and your using a 2025 and a 2060 with imatch is pretty close to my setup. And growing lots of potatoes , one of my favorite foods
